In a very brief piece in convenience industry website CSPNet, it was revealed that Altria, the parent company of Phillip Morris will be testing its new e-cigarette product in Indiana. The e-cigarette will be released under the Mark Ten brand this August. Further details such as the type of device the company will be offering remain scant at best.
It still amazes me how timid the big tobacco companies are. Save for Lorillard who just bought Blu outright, the others are making tiny little moves while other companies like independent NJoy ramp up production and marketing into overtime. No wonder some companies like RJR tried to stack the deck through legislation.
